UBC Health Mentors Program Recruiting Now

Sep 1

The UBC Health Mentors Program is looking for volunteer health mentors/or caregivers who live with chronic conditions to share their medical expertise with our healthcare students. Health mentors are experts in their health and want to share their experiences living with a chronic condition.

Students are new healthcare professionals who learn about patient-centered care and how providers can better support people. Over the course of the 9-month program, health mentors and students (3-4 per group) meet 6 times to share information and discuss healthcare topics. Health mentors should live in the Metro Vancouver area and be comfortable talking about their health condition. The program starts in September 2019 and runs to May 2020. By being a health mentor you will be part of a pioneering program that is contributing to the education of the health professionals of tomorrow.
