Patient Partners for Physical Therapy Communication Skills

Oct 9 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Patient partners help 1st year physical therapy students practice their patient interviewing skills.

Volunteers who live with a condition treated by physiotherapy use their own experience for the interviews. They meet a group of 2-4 students over Zoom who will all try asking questions as part of an interview. The patient partner gives the students feedback on some key considerations from a checklist. The students have received instruction about interviewing but this will be their first opportunity to practice “for real”.
