This interactive, interdisciplinary workshop invites UBC students in human and health services programs to explore the lived experiences of people with mental illnesses and the role of empathy and compassion in recovery.

Through personal stories and small group discussions, you will learn from our facilitators—people living with mental health conditions who understand the challenges firsthand—and collaborate with students from diverse healthcare disciplines to deepen your understanding of working with individuals living with mental illness.

What to Expect:

  • Inspiring stories from individuals sharing their journeys with mental illness.

  • Small group conversations to reflect, connect, and share perspectives with fellow students.

  • A deeper appreciation for the role of empathy and compassion in recovery.

This event is open only to UBC students in human and health services programs.
