November 12-15, 2025 | Marriot Pinnacle, Vancouver, BC Canada
3rd International Conference
Patient’s Voice 2025 brought together 260 patients, community members, students, academics, health professionals and administrative staff from 14 countries. Over $35,000 in bursaries were provided to reduce barriers for patients, students, and faculty in need of financial support to attend the conference. Building on the momentum of the 2015 Vancouver Statement, the 2025 conference explored the progress made over the past decade and highlighted innovations, practices, and theories that center lived experience in the education of current and future professionals.
Over three days, 165 abstracts were presented in workshops, oral presentations, symposia, round tables, posters, visual and creative and performing arts that showcased collaborations between educators and patient or community groups that bring authentic, autonomous patient voices into curricula and training. Participants engaged with examples of meaningful involvement that enrich learning and support more responsive, person-centered care.
The conference was international and interprofessional in scope, welcoming participants from a wide range of health and social care disciplines. Attendees included educators, practitioners, patients, clients, service users, carers, community organizations, researchers, policy makers, and students from health and social care programs. Disciplines represented included medicine, nursing, midwifery, physical therapy, occupational therapy, pharmacy, kinesiology, social work, dietetics, audiology, speech-language pathology, and others.
