Registration Open! 2025–2026 UBC Health Mentors Program: Interprofessional Learning Rooted in Real Life

The UBC Health Mentors Program invites students to learn directly from individuals living with chronic health conditions or their caregivers (Health Mentors). From October 2025 to May 2026, small interprofessional groups meet with a Health Mentor 2–3 times per semester to explore the realities of chronic illness, patient-centred care, stigma, team-based care and the healthcare system.

Students in audiology, dentistry, dietetics, genetic counselling, kinesiology, medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, public health, social work, and speech-language pathology are eligible to participate. The program includes an in-person orientation for students and health mentors on September 29 in the evening, six meetings between students and mentors (in person or virtual), brief written reflections, and a symposium to share learning.
