Participants Needed: Partnering on Appropriate Virtual Care Collaborative (PAVC) project
The Public Health Services Authority (PHSA) needs your help to create culturally sensitive virtual care! Patients with limited English proficiency who are interested in receiving care virtually are especially needed!
The aim of this project is to create a resource which outlines what are considered safe, high quality, and culturally sensitive virtual (video chat or telephone) health interactions between community members (patients, families, caregivers) and health care team members.
This project is specifically focused on needs of linguistically diverse communities whose members have limited English proficiency (or who do not have English as their first language of communication) and are interested in receiving care virtually.
Resources will be implemented across PHSA in 2024 and will be available for community members and health care team members to reference when receiving or providing health care virtually.
To ensure the resource captures voices of those who are directly involved in health care, online focus groups are being done on Zoom beginning in December. There are two kinds of participation:
1) Focus Group
Attend a focus group facilitated by the project team.
Expected time commitment: 30 – 90 mins
2) Patient Journey Mapping
Create a visual map of health care journeys with the project team over Zoom.
Expected time commitment: 60 – 120 mins
Application information is available in:
English, French, Punjabi, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese
Honorarium: will be offered based on PHSA guidelines
