Living Library: New Video Available!
In June we added a new video to the Living Library bringing the number of videos in the collection to 18. Our latest video is a collaboration with Justice for Girls. In the video “Her and Healthcare“, three friends discuss intersectional experiences of black and indigenous girls with healthcare.
The Living Library is a collection of video vignettes of real patients and caregivers talking about their health care experiences. The videos illustrate key topics in health care and give people who have barriers to in-person participation a platform to share their stories with students.
The video collection was part of coursework for 400 students in audiology, medicine, pharmacy, and psychology at UBC this year. Next year, the videos will be included in health professions programs at the British Columbia Institute for Technology.
We gratefully acknowledge funding for this work was provided by UBC’s Equity Enhancement Fund and the Centre for Community Engaged Learning.
New videos are being developed. Stay tuned!
