4th Annual: Narrative Medicine Case Competition March 28 & April 4

On March 28th and April 4th, the UBC Humanities in Healthcare (HIH) Club will hold its 4th annual case competition. It is an interdisciplinary event that uses a hypothetical case to explore patient-centered care through a narrative medicine lens. This year’s case is a woman in her late 30s diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Interdisciplinary teams will explore how professional background, socioeconomic pressures, and systemic biases affect her care journey.

Undergraduate and graduate students from any faculty and major are invited to participate. Judges and Mentors include but are not limited to healthcare providers, patients and advocates, graduate students, researchers, residents, social workers, nurses, etc.

This competition is not just an academic challenge – it’s an opportunity to reimagine healthcare with a focus on equity, empathy, and innovation! Students, judges and mentors are needed.
