14th Annual Health Mentors Symposium

In-Person Health Mentors Program
The 14th Annual UBC Health Mentors Symposium took place on April 14, 2025. This event is the final part of the year-long Health Mentors Program, in which interprofessional teams of healthcare students learn from a mentor living with a chronic condition or is a caregiver.
This year, 44 Health Mentors and 149 students from 11 programs took part, including Audiology, Dentistry, Dietetics, Genetic Counselling, Kinesiology, Medicine, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, and Speech Language Pathology. At the Symposium, students shared what they learned through creative and colorful poster presentations for fellow students, faculty, and community members.
Virtual Health Mentors Program
On April 10, 2025, we held a virtual symposium for the 3 health mentors groups who are based outside the Lower Mainland. Each group shared their journey together and one key learning from both students and mentors. They ended their presentations with a thought-provoking question for the audience. The event was attended by students from Occupational Therapy, Medicine, Pharmacy, and Physical Therapy, their Health Mentors and members of Patient & Community Partnership for Education (PCPE).
Congratulations to Cohort 14!
We’re proud of you and wish you all the best in your future healthcare careers!
