Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health

The Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health, created on May 31, 1952 has since then provided assistance to the population and values ​​quality and innovation in higher education. An institution that, over time, also became a reference in assistance, in extension programs and in research and innovation, with relevant contributions to the health of the population.

Coordinator, International Relations. Antonieta visited UBC in 2021 and started a Health Mentors program at Bahiana in 2022 with professor Milena Silva Lisboa.

Universidad del Desarrollo

The Universidad del Desarrollo (UDD) is a private autonomous university in Chile , with campuses in Concepción and Santiago , specifically in the commune of Las Condes . It was founded by a group of academics and politicians in 1990.

Cristina Di Silvestre, Associate Professor, Faculty of Medicine, Universidad del Desarrollo visited UBC in 2018 and established a Health Mentors program at UDD which ran from 2018-2020

2017

The Federation of Hospitals and Assistance to Persons

Alice Casagrande, head of the Continuing Professional Development department at FEHAP, an employee’s federation operating in the health care and social care non-profit sector in France. Angela Towle and Alice collaborated on a keynote talk at the Social Partners Conference on Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Amsterdam: ‘Introducing the contribution of patients and / or social care users in the training process’. Since then Alice and colleague Paul Morin from the University of Sherbrooke in Quebec translated the Vancouver Statement into French and Alice worked with a group of collaborators on a statement about patient engagement in health and social care education in the French context, ‘The Paris Declaration’.

NHS Leadership Academy

The NHS Leadership Academy sits proudly within the NHS People Directorate, NHS England. They aim to help everyone in the NHS discover their full leadership potential and achieve the highest standards in health and care.

NHS Leadership Academy – Clare Price-Dowd, Head of Leadership and Lifelong learning for the Midlands region of the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK. In 2014 Clare won the Florence Nightingale Foundation Travel Scholarship and spent time at the University of British Colombia in Canada researching patients as educators for healthcare staff. This work has been incorporated into the work of the Leadership Academy at all levels since her return. Click here to know more.
