PULPIT Project: Belgium Meeting

In February, Cathy Kline and Darren Lauscher travelled to Belgium to take part in a transnational meeting of the PULPIT project, funded by the European Union ERASMUS+ program. The PULPIT consortium is a group of academics, students and patients working to transform health professional education by putting the voices of patients at the centre of interprofessional teaching and learning.
“It was a rewarding experience as a patient to be part of this international group of like-minded people all working collaboratively to include the patient voice in health care curricula in universities across Europe,” said Darren.
UBC’s Health Mentors program was an example of patient involvement presented during the gathering which took place over 3-days at PXL University in beautiful Hasselt with over 100 participants from across Europe. Cathy and Darren participated in meetings to inform resource development to support patient involvement in interprofessional education including international recommendations, podcasts and seminars which will be available soon.
