Last Call: 2022 Kerston Community Educator Award  November 10th!

Get your nominations in! UBC Health invites nominations for the 2022 Kerston Community Educator Award for patient/community educators who have expanded student learning beyond traditional professional boundaries.

Named after long-time community educator, R. Paul Kerston, this annual award was established to honour outstanding community educators who have made a difference to student learning at UBC.

The Kerston Award recognizes patient/community educators who have expanded student learning beyond traditional professional boundaries. Nominations can be made by anyone (student, community member, community agency, staff, faculty), but must be seconded by at least one student.

An online nomination form must be completed and must include nomination letters from at least two nominators whose experiences have been positively impacted by the nominated individual. Letters must include specific evidence of how the nominee meets the eligibility criteria and why the nominee is deserving of the award.

There have been 16 recipients of the Kerston Award since it was established in 2014. A $1,000 prize will be shared by this year’s recipients.
